Waterjet cutting is a technology that performs old tasks better.
A waterjet cutter is a machine tool process with the capability of cutting metal and a variety of other materials with CNC accuracy. It works by pressurizing a combination of combing water and abrasive material, such as garnet, and forcing it through a nozzle onto materials to form their desired shape.
Abrasive waterjets are ideally suited for heavy gage and tough applications and for materials such as titanium, Inconel, brass, tool steel, glass, stone, or composites, while the most commonly cut materials include aluminum and steel.
How does a Waterjet work?
The Incodema flow water jet features the state of the art dynamic head. The dynamic head changes the water stream to make vertical edge by taking into account the spreading effect of the jet. It has the ability to cut materials from 1/16” to 8” thickness in both low and high volumes. Depending on the material and type of cut, 0.001” can be achieved.
The cutting action of the water jet is a result of the abrasive garnet being pressurized onto the material. We use the highest quality of garnet to ensure the most accurate lines are produced.
